Parking is limited to a few spaces on the narrow grass verge. You may have to hop the very low wire fence to get close to the chamber but it's easy.

The place itself is not specifically attractive although it offers a splendid view of the Kenneth Valley. It is the historic context that makes the hill a great place to visit. Avebury Rings might be a good start for a nice walk (about 2 miles) through the fields. |

A lovely atmospheric site that i have wanted to visit for a long time. We were watched by a buzzard sitting on the fence oblivious to us and our dogs. The stone is down the farm track south of St Colman's Church, an easy walk of a few hundred metres from the parking area.

A lovely walk on a Tuesday morning through an ancient landscape with sweeping panoramic views. It is obviously a busy trail at peak times due to the landmarks (Waylands Smithy and Uffington Castle and the White Horse). |

However, from Camaes Street (the main road running through the village) there is a blue notice board for the church, with a lane running northwards towards the church.
