Log Text: Compared to Fyrkat and Trelleborg fortresses the actual site is poorly preserved but the museum has a very attractive and informative exhibition and lots of artefacts.

Log Text: Access to the garden of the old manse where the stone stands has been stopped by the current owners, but the symbol side can be viewed from the road opposite the church and the cross side from the driveway on the other side of the house (partly obscured by a tree).

Spittal of Glenshee Standing Stone submitted by Nick on 5th Nov 2002. Looking east. This stone stands on a low mound to the rear of the old kirk in Spittal. Take the A93 from Blairgowrie, Spittal of Glenshee lies in a bend in the road just before the long climb up towards the ski slopes. It's easiest to park at the Spittal Inn, (the coffee's not bad and they do a mean carrot cake...) and walk down the road towards the bridge. Cross it and bear left, you'll see the stone easily enough. Bit of a muddy scramble up the slope, but again, the views are worth it. N...
