Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor submitted by PhilipT : A few days after Lammas, with the sun rising along the (alleged) Michael Line. Surely not a coincidence that the sun is framed by the St Michael chapel doorway at Lammas and Beltane. Canon 5D, 7 frame stitched panorama. Note that this photo has been watermarked after posting due to repeated use without permission. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Here are some more Highly Commended photos with very good scores to show as well. Firstly, Cerrig got a very high appreciation factor for this photo, however we didn't have enough general landscape photos to warrant a separate competition:

Thanks to everyone who entered. Just as a recap, each month all the photos submitted to the Megalithic Portal have a chance to be voted on by you, the visitors.

There is still some time to vote on the January and February competitions and we will be announcing the results of the Dec 2010 competition soon.

Feel free to vote or comment on any that particularly catch your eye, either for visual or archaeological merit. A vote from any person will start off the scoring - also remember that you are allowed to vote for your own photos once if you would like to put them forward.

Philip I found your pic of Glastonbury Tor visually & spiritually stunning, it warmed the heart of someone who is despertally homesick . Here in Australia we have a photographic artist called Steve Parish who is very popular & i'm sure would have been proud if he could say this one was his. English Girl.

But the Glastonbury Tor pic really caught my eye, maybe because Im a Somerset native.

And many thanks to all voters. Quite pleased this more unknown, but delightful funnel-beaker passage grave near Anloo in the Netherlands could make it into the Top3. Cheers, Martin
