PAB comment. A Modern feature in the Czech
Republic. It was erected in 2008, but contains a
fine selection of granite monoliths from the
locality. This attracted the highest number of votes
for this 3-month phase.
2nd Prize: Ffyst Samson by Simon Judge (spjudge62)
PAB comment: This lovely sunrise image of the
delightful Ffyst Samson Chambered Tomb was
submitted by Portal contributor spjudge, who has also
put some very useful access suggestions on the site
page. Thanks spjudge, not only for the image, but for
helping to keep access as easy as the gorse allows!
PAB comments: Lovely image of this very impressive
burial chamber near the Baltic Sea in Germany.

images.
Highly Commended: D21 Bronneger by Jos 'ShamrockStone'
Very striking and pleasing image both in terms of
content, colour and framing.
Highly Commended: Le Pont du Gard
by Robin Potticary (Humbucker)
A magnificent structure - we do now cover Roman sites and we would very much like more photos and site submissions from this period.
Located on the Cumbria / Yorkshire border, some of
these cairns are almost 10 ft high.
Thanks as always to everyone who voted and entered and especially thanks to Peter Boyle (PAB) for organising the competitions.
