Perspectives of the Stonehenge Landscape, Thursday 24th May 2007. The National Trust at Stonehenge Landscape and the Salisbury Camera Club have teamed up to create a photographic exhibition with a fresh look at the monuments that surround Stonehenge.

The Trust owns 850 hectares (2,100 acres) of downland surrounding the famous stone circle. Prominent in this landscape are other prehistoric monuments, including the Avenue, King Barrows Ridge, Winterbourne Stoke Barrows, the great henge of Durrington Walls, and the Cursus, interpreted as a processional way. The Trust now manages most of the core zone of the Stonehenge World Heritage Site, conserving archaeology, increasing access and encouraging diversity of wildlife.
This project was designed to increase awareness of the historic monuments that exist on the landscape that were in use at the time of Stonehe! nge and some of which even predate the stone circle. The landscape is open access to the general public. The National Trust works to conserve areas of natural beauty and historic importance and we welcome all members of the general public onto the landscape throughout the year.
