Firstly just to say we have a HANDFUL only of tickets available for Andy's talk in Norwich on the 30th September. After that our next talk date is the amazing Fishbourne Roman Palace near Chichester, West Sussex at 1pm. Early bird tickets are available until 21st September. The Old Stones - a field guide to the megalithic sites of Britain and Ireland won (as you probably know by now) Current Archaeology Book of the Year 2019

Chosen by public vote against competition from the many hundreds of other archaeology books published each year. The award was presented to lead author Andy Burnham, by archaeologist Julian Richards at their conference held over the weekend at Senate House, University of London.

Andy is lead author of 'The Old Stones - the Megalithic Sites of Britain and Ireland’ book, along with other contributors to the huge Megalithic Portal web resource which he founded and has been running continuously since 2001. The Old Stones is the most comprehensive and thought-provoking field guide ever published to the iconic standing stones and prehistoric places of Britain and Ireland and was previously awarded Current Archaeology Book of the Year.

A highly illustrated talk covering many of the fascinating themes and new discoveries highlighted in the book, along with a look at lesser known but interesting sites, including some in the local area.
