Ancient site photos must be submitted by searching for the relevant 'site page' (use the search box at top left and press enter, and also try the Google search option). Once you have found the site page, then click on the 'Submit an Image' link in the top right corner of the page.
Ancient site photos are only eligible if they are attached to a 'site page'. (ie they appear with a yellow highlighted link on the left hand side with a link to an information page) If we don't have a site page then you need to add one for your site here. You can do this before or after submitting the photo. Please add a good description as this will make your photo more attractive to voters.
A photo(*) needs to be voted on to enter the competition (of course). We recommend that once we have added your photo you drop back in a day or so to vote for your photo once to indicate that you want to enter that photo into the competition.
If you prefer you can opt out of having your photos being rated and voted on. To opt out please contact Andy via the 'Contact Editor' link in the left menu.
PLEASE VOTE
Anyone can vote in the competitions by browsing our photos from the last few months. Vote with the 'rate' box at the left hand side of the photo. You can only vote for each photo once. You can narrow things down by going into the gallery and finding a category that interests you, then choose a month. You can also narrow things down by ticking the box to 'just show photos with votes' as the best photos have usually already been voted for.
You are welcome to vote for photos(*) for their 'interestingness', uniqueness or content as well as for style. We may award individual prizes for this as well as artistic quality. At the end of the voting period we will total up the scores and come up with top photos for each competition period. We will then check with the photographers that they are happy to have their photos considered for the competition. For each photo competition the judges will select a first, second and third prize photo for each month, which will be closely based on the public voting.
So you can submit photos and site descriptions for this month's competition now, and also vote for photos already posted.
Prizes for the competitions are exclusive Megalithic Portal T shirt or selected books from our Online Shop.
