On 5th May 2007, students of a German grammar school will try to erect a four ton megalith with only simple tools as would have been used during the Neolithic age as part of a school project and social event. The students plan to use a wooden ramp, sled and about 20 people to move the stone to its final location and to then stand it up.

The project is spearheaded by students Michael Reutter and Florian Vogel at the Otto Hahn high school in the southern German town of Ostfildern Nellingen. They took a course on megalithic culture in Europe and are writing a 30 page paper on the subject. Setting up the megalith will be the crowning achievement of the academic endeavour. The students also found local sponsors to finance the event.
