Cairn in Gwynedd

Situated on high moorland to the east of the narrow road that leads to the Cregennen Lakes from Dolgellau the cairn lies on a slight westerly slope. Recorded by Gwynedd Archaeological Trust (GAT) and considered by them to date from the Bronze Age the cairn shares the area with several other possible prehistoric sites.

This cairn consists of a partially overgrown low scatter of stones with the larger stones quite prominent. I paced the diameter at 6m E-W by 4m but I detected overgrown stones underfoot. The site area does not attract many visitors given its location beneath the towering Tyrrau Mawr and with the more appealing Cregennen Lakes to the north.
