Top 15 sites in Morbihan, Bretagne:
1. Les Alignements de Kermario (Kermario alignments) (pictured left) The biggest set of multiple stone rows to the north of Carnac, in Morbihan, Brittany.
2. Gavrinis Cairn, (pictured below right) on an Island in the Golfe du Morbihan is one of the best preserved sites in Brittany. It has marvellous carved slabs in the passage and chamber. You need to take a boat ride from Larmor Baden Harbour, near Vannes to get there.
3. L'alignements du Ménec (Ménec alignments) the westerly of the major sets of alignements near Carnac.

5. Er Lannic Stone Circle
6. La Table des Marchands
7. Crucuno dolmen
8. Le Grand Menhir Brisé
9. Kerlescan Alignements
10. Kerzerho Alignements

Many of the sites around Morbihan are close to the town of Carnac, so are quite accessible even without a car. The whole of Brittany is covered with megalithic sites of all sorts, so whererever you choose to stay you are bound to find some interesting sites to explore - we have pages on many lesser known sites too. In choosing the sites for this article I also compiled a more extensive list for the whole of Brittany. While the majority of ‘favourite’ sites are around Morbihan - here are a few from elsewhere that you shouldn’t miss if you are travelling through or staying elsewhere in Bretagne.
The top of these - in fact voted the most attractive site in the whole of Bretagne - although less visited than the Morbihan sites is the spectacular, house-sized Roche-aux-Fées (rock of the fairies - pictured left) passage grave in Essé. Also in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine is the very beautiful Champ Dolent menhir (standing stone)
Two sites in the overall Brittany top ten are in Finistère - Pors Poulhan allée couverte (passage grave - pictured right) - on a headland overlooking the Baie D'Audierne, this site is in a tremendous position. This 12 metre long passage is almost 2 metres in width. The second is
Mougau Bihan passage grave, another wonderful allée couverte, which has much rock art to look out for.
A little lower down the list in Finistère are the magnificent remains of Barnenez chambered cairn.
Finally in Côtes-D'Armor there is Prajou-Menhir allée couverte - another spectacular passage grave 14 metres long on whose end cell are many carvings, including pairs of breasts, cartouches, palettes and others.
