Standing Stone (Menhir) in Qala, Gozo.
This isolated standing stone is in Qala, the easternmost village on Gozo. It is roughly shaped and pyramidal being c. 1.7 metres at its base and tapering upwards to a flattened top at a height of 3.9 metres.
No other stones have been found nearby suggesting this is a true menhir but Temple period pottery sherds and a greenstone axe-shaped pendant found near the stone suggest it may be the sole surving stone of a temple.
Co-ordinates taken from a map.
