Il-Hagra L-Wieqfa
Il-Hagra L-Wieqfa submitted by enkidu41 : "The Standing Monolith" is 10'9" high pyramidal stone with a 7' base. The thickness varies from 2'6" to 3'3". It is thought that this may not be a true menhir but the sole remaining stone of a temple complex similar to but smaller than Ggantija. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stone (Menhir) in Qala, Gozo. This isolated standing stone is in Qala, the easternmost village on Gozo. It is roughly shaped and pyramidal being c. 1.7 metres at its base and tapering upwards to a flattened top at a height of 3.9 metres.

No other stones have been found nearby suggesting this is a true menhir but Temple period pottery sherds and a greenstone axe-shaped pendant found near the stone suggest it may be the sole surving stone of a temple.

Co-ordinates taken from a map.
