Deerleap Wood
Deerleap Wood submitted by Andy B : I revisited Deerleap Wood barrow in Spring 2005, fearing what the trees planted in 1997 might have done. Remarkably the trees look identical, so I can only assume the previous lot of trees was cut down and new ones planted. These shouldn't really be planted on one of the most significant barrows in Surrey, should they? (Vote or comment on this photo)

Finally found and got my nerve up to go and see this fine Bowl Barrow. On a clear Nov morning this at least 35m dia with clear circular ditch edge is in a really nice state, apart from the Wotton estate (whose private land this is sited) planting trees on it in the last decade!

This is a serious size complete barrow in a lowland location between North Downs and the greensand ridge and should be an openly visitable feature cleared of the trees as its a real beauty!

This site is on private land and I don't think they like visitors.
