Rock Art in Rogaland
This rock art site is located almost on top of a large hill called Oddahaugen. From this site it is a magnificent view over the flat agricultural landscape of Jæren. The site is on a rock face facing south east. The site has been equipped with information signs.
The rock art site consists of 25 figures. 17 of the figures are carvings of ships. The ship carvings range from 30cm in length to around 20cm. They all have the vertical lines believed to symbolize crew. Some of the boats have double keels and a few have just a single line keel.
The site also has one "sun cross" - a circle with a cross inside and two single circles. They are around 30cm in diameter.
The site has three clear cup marks in addition to the other figures. Two more figures have not been identified, perhaps they are incomplete figures.
The rock site is very rugged and it has been a lot of erosion on the rock. This makes the figures difficult to see, even if some of them are painted in red.
