Hart Tor North ring cairn submitted by Bladup : Hart Tor North (Devil's Elbow) Ring Cairn (Vote or comment on this photo)
A ring cairn surviving as a partial ring of close-set stones standing up to 0.75m high, surrounding a slightly raised internal area with a diameter of 7.5m.

A central hollow measuring up to 0.30m deep may represent the site of a cist recorded by Samuel Rowe in 1848. Spreads of material lying to the north and south west of the central area probably represent spoil thrown clear when the cairn was investigated.
[Rowe, S., 1896, A Perambulation of the Antient and Royal Forest of Dartmoor]

Update September 2019: This cairn circle is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website - see their entry for the Devil's Elbow Platform Cairn Circle.

The cairn is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 440211, which adds that this Bronze Age cairn has been robbed almost to ground level. The Devon & Dartmoor HER also includes a record: http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=MDV14310&resourceID=104 ">MDV14310 (Ring cairn 220m SSE of Devil's Bridge).

It is also scheduled as Historic England List ID 1011181 Ring cairn 220m SSE of Devil's Bridge), which tells us the ring cairn is "situated on a gentle west-facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Meavy".
