DiscoveriesStone instruments and pottery that are believed to be over 3,500 years old have been unearthed in Van Don district, in the northern province of Quang Ninh. The 10 sq.m discovery site was discovered by a group of workers while they were restoring the Dong Trong Cave, a famous tourism site.
Archaeologists at the scene said that early indicators pointed to the relics as coming from the late Ha Long Culture, a civilisation of people that resided in the area over 3,500 years ago.
The artefacts are believed to be similar to other Ha Long pieces discovered in Ha Giat, Ngoc Vung and on the edge of Ha Long Bay.
