Wednesday May 22nd 2002, Maddington Hall, Shrewton, from 2:00PM

The Commission is an open forum and is a voluntary initiative of The International Institute of Peace Studies & Global Philosophy, and of The Stonehenge Peace Process which is a project working to bring together all parties with an interest in the controversial issues of access to Stonehenge and the surrounding landscape.

We believe that a lasting solution can only be found if everyone participates and the legitimate needs of everyone including druids and pagans, local residents, new age travellers, the public and all Solstice visitors can be addressed in a spirit of compromise.

Plans for managed open public access for the Summer Solstice in 2002 are finalised and the community is exploring its own self-policing potential so the access can be as mellow as possible. Also to promote acts of spontaneous celebration within the managed access format. A search for negotiated land for an extended park up is underway. The question of "Acts of Reconciliation" has also been raised. With so much to talk about we have also booked the facility for a follow up meeting, TRC24 on:

Wednesday 5th June 2002 (same time, same place)
