Hello everyone.

Just to clear up the above comments.
The double sunset was filmed from Pickwood Vale, on the same alignemnt for the double sunset at St. Edwards church. This was the first time one had been seen on the solistice in leek for almost 30 years. The Sunset is no longer viewable from the traditional viewing point of St. Edwards Church. My approach to the study is both thorough and analytical so all poinions and points are mentioned.

It should however be pointed out that many people submit St. Edwards church as the site of a stone circle, in alignment with the double sunset. Unfortunatley though, the double sunset only became viewable from the far edge of the church site around 500BC so no prehistoric alignments could have been located on the church site. If any one has any more double sunset questions dont hesitate to contact me byronmachin @ hotmail.com.

Yours, Byron Machin.

The double sunset Byron has filmed (and I suspect with Jeff Kent's involvement)is that seen from Leek Lowe, not the historically famous phenomenon originally recorded by Dr Plot in 1686 as being visible from St Edward's churchyard. I hope that he makes this point clear in his documentary. That being the case, Byron's double sunset can be seen any clear evening for several weeks in the summer months from Mount Road, Leek. The geometry is not the same as that from the church but you can 'engineer' a disappearance and reappearance by being at the right place at the right time. Big deal!
