Stonehenge Tunnel Abandoned

Stonehenge

<< News >>

Taking a lead from the Welsh Eisteddford, Stonehenge is to be dismantled and replaced by a fibre-glass replica. Concerned by increasing damage from acid rain, heavy traffic and solstice celebrations, the trilithons, sarsens and bluestones will be packed into wooden crates and sent to Flag Fen where they will be stored alongside the timbers of Seahenge.

A spokesman added that this would also save the enormous cost of the road tunnel project which has now been abandoned.

I thought this had to be a joke, millions of followers of stonehenge would have tied theresevles to the stones to stop them being moved, I would have been one of them

I think this must be a joke.I consider that it would be better erected anew on the moon as it would do better in an airless environment.Ever practical.Nur.

Would it not be better to flog it off for mega millions to the arabs. Then we could then afford to employ people without jobs to replace the artefacts, makes sense to me. Arthur,Burbage,Leicestershire
