Ukraine may be thousands of miles away from Egypt, but archaeologists there say they have found pyramids. It is claimed that the monuments have been uncovered in the east of the country and that they predate the pyramids in Egypt.

But the claim that there is evidence of pyramids is being disputed. The prestigious Academy of Sciences has sent its own expert to the dig.

It believes that this could be the Ukrainian version of Stonehenge. [Oh no, here we go again... - Ed]

Seems to me that this is a russian article about Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. They also mention it: Göbekli Tepe in russian is Гёбекли-тепе. Cannot read russian, but I guess it is not about a finding in Ukraine. They mention data related to Gobliki Tepe: since 1995 (1994) the findings started, the man in charge is Клаус Шмидт which is the same as Klaus Schmidt.
Further: russian cyrillic does transliterate from roman script.

Now this is pretty interesting! (Not sure if the "pyramid" headlines make much sense, but ... )

Yes, and this is in Turkey, not the Ukraine, it appears, so we're on another site altogether. I was caught up by other links here and didn't check. Still, cool stuff.

Pictures can be found at This is a link

I did a babble fish translation of the site and could make a little sense of it. These pictures are similar to the Bosnian Pyramid pictures found at

This is a link [select excavations]

in that they argue a strong case for definite man-made structures. Interpretations of the finds by new agers are quite another matter and should not be lumped together with questioning the validity of the physical finds. After all Troy was misinterpreted by romantics but was a valid site.
