Youngsters with a passion for the prehistoric will enjoy an event at the city's Royal Albert Memorial Museum later this month.Cave painting is being held as a free family day, at the museum in Queen Street, on Friday July 27.

Visitors can explore the wonders of cave art, using earth colours and other pigments.

They can help deocrate the museum's cave and take away their own cave painting.

Families are invited to drop in at the free event, aimed at children aged seven to eleven.

Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult but all are welcome.

Admission is free and the event runs from 10am to 4pm.
