Mystery surrounding body found at burial site. Carbon dating and DNA analysis could hold the answer to the mystery surrounding an ancient death in Dorset. The remains of a teenage Saxon male have been found buried in a long barrow on MOD land just outside of Blandford Army Barracks.

Experts have established he died around the late 5th to early 6th century AD and his burial position and the presence of a knife indicate he was a person of importance. But archaeologists will have to wait for further test results to establish how he died.
