Wiltshire police blockaded roads to Stonehenge in an attempt to prevent the convoy of over 100 old buses and trucks getting to the monument. The convoy members escaped into a beanfield where they were effectively trapped. The police announced that they wanted to interview all 500 members of the convoy to see who had been responsible for the theft of petrol from a service station earlier in the day. When the hippies refused to leave their vehicles, riot police were sent in. Scenes of extraordinary violence followed. You can access the archive of 132 volumes, each one comprising several hundred pages of papers, reviews and articles from 1858 up to 2013.
