Marked on the OS map as a cairn, Barbrook IV lies to the east of Barbrook I stone circle on Ramsley Moor.

All that remains is a rubble bank circa 23m by 21m externally in diameter.

Incorrect map co-ordinates given for Barbrook IV. Should be:-

Latitude: 53° 16' 34.58" N
Longitude: 1° 33' 54.19" W

It is a hard site to locate so the co-ordinates should be right.

Accessing Barbrook 4 by TimPrevett on Monday, 19 February 2007

When cutting through the birch wood from the east to access here, be warned that many of the trees are rotting upright. We had a close shave on Saturday when leaning against one of the trees and it collapsed just scraping someone's hand. Gentle prods of other trees yielded similar effects, so be careful. It must also be noted that the birch which used to surround the monument for some way has now receeded, leaving the landscape much changed than several years ago.

An overgrown ruin, unexcavated, could be a ringcairn or a circle, survey suggested a "Flattened Type B" 77x70ft (outer), 62x53ft (inner). Short axis aligns S.E.
Has a party trick of giving dowsers "electric" shocks.
Approach from the East, other routes are extremely boggy.
