Farley Water stones
Farley Water stones submitted by TheCaptain : “Standing Stones” are marked on the OS map, but I could find nothing obvious. What a lovely spot it is down here, well protected from any winds, and with a few trees growing in a little flat grassy area beside the babbling stream. (Vote or comment on this photo)
“Standing Stones” are marked on the OS map. I looked all around for some standing stones, but could find nothing, except perhaps some stones which were laying flat on the ground, or perhaps a couple of stumps, but there was nothing which obviously shouted standing stone to me.

Farley Water stones
Farley Water stones submitted by Stane : The lush growth and mysterious quality of the place is captured well here. Maybe more extensive searching could reveal the various stones marked on the OS map for this site, but I found none. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Farley Water stones
Farley Water stones submitted by Stane : I also found no standing stones here but I was inspired to visit this site by TheCaptain's photos and descriptions. I concur it is a wonderful valley - remote, sheltered and lonely. It was raining and generally very wet when I was there but you feel kind of cocooned by the valley and I eat my lunch sheltering under a hawthorn tree festooned with lichens.
