South along the Two Moors Way (Tarka Trail) along the top of the Cheriton Ridge, and a couple of kilometres out onto the open moorland can be found the remains of this stone setting.

This is much better than anything else I have found so far today. A large rectangular setting which has seven stones still standing, up to 2.5 feet tall, plus several others fallen and laying down.

Perhaps this is three rows of four stones facing down the hillside, but they are not evenly spaced. Four rows of four would be far better, but with one of the rows completely missing. Generally the stones are spaced at about 6 metres from each other, but with a 12 metre gap between two of the rows.

Update October 2019: This alignment is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Cheriton Ridge SE, which includes a description, photographs of the row and the individual stones, a plan of Cheriton Ridge showing the SE stone alignment, access information and a list of online resources for more information.

The row is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 35250 and as MDE1259 (Prehistoric stone setting below Cheriton Ridge) on the Exmoor National Park HER. Whilst the stones are shown on the Historic England map, located just to the west of Farley Water, there is no listing or scheduling information for this site.
