Out on the very blowy moorland to the northwest of Brendon Two Gates, on the slopes above the upper Farley water valley, can be found the remains of this stone setting. I found three stones in a pretty regular triangle shape, but there was possibly once many more stones to be found here.

Each of the three stones is about 18” high, two being pillar like and 6” wide, while the third is a pointed top slab, currently leaning at quite an angle. The spacing between the stones is between 5 and 6 metres.

In my copy of “The Archaeology of Exmoor”, by L.V. Grinsell (1970), this stone setting is described as a rhomboid of 5 stones, so confirming the destruction of recent years.

Note: Another of Exmoor's rapidly disappearing stone settings. In 1970 there were five stones here, in 2007 there are only three.
