markj99 visited on 18th Sep 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 I was unsure what to make of this rectangular enclosure in the Manio forest. The stones are too short for it to be used for containment. The proximity of the Geant du Manio adds to its air of mystery.

TheCaptain visited on 13th Jun 2005 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 3 Access: 4 This is a quadrilateral of stones in the forest to the north of the alignements. It initially looks to me like the outside peristalith from a long gone passage grave, but closer inspection shows it to be more than that.
As I am here, a party of horse riders ride right through, and then a bus tour of people, who all turn up, take a picture, and then move on elsewhere. While here I met a couple of Brazilian ladies who saw I was writing, and came up to ask me some questions. They are looking out the old stones, and were interested in what I was doing, and wanted to take my internet address. I should have got them to take a picture of me beside the Giant.

The tumulus which covered it, has disappeard and the stones are appr. 1 m high
Just north of the Geant du Manio menhir, the remains are 37 metres in length, with a northeast southwest axis, the width varying between 7 metres at the west and 10 metres at the eastern end. There are a few other stones here too.
This is on the main tourist trail and can get horribly busy. As I was here, a party of horse riders rode right through, and then a bus tour of people, who all turn up, take a picture, and then move on elsewhere.
While here I met a couple of Brazilian ladies who saw I was writing, and came up to ask me some questions. They are looking out the old stones, and were interested in what I was doing, and wanted to take my internet address.
