To the southeast of Inverurie beside the Bass of Inverurie mound is the local cemetery, hemmed in by the road, railway, river and sewage works. Within this cemetery underneath the trees to the west of the mound are the remains of four Pictish symbol stones with various carvings on them.

The Bass of Inverurie is a natural mound about 50ft high converted to a motte by the scarping of its sides.
