Trecastle Mountain WSW
Trecastle Mountain WSW submitted by Postman : Me and a mate lugged some step ladders out with us this morning, heavy but worth it. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Smaller of two stone circles, diameter 24 feet, on open land on the hill to the west of Trecastle.

The larger ENE ring is about 50 metres away. The stones of both circles are small although those of the WSW ring are larger. A mound near the center of the ESE ring may cover a burial.

This stone circle is also recorded as Coflein NPRN 413022. It is also featured as part of the Stone Rows of Great Britain's entry for the Y Pigwn (Trecastle Mountain) stone row.

So, we (rather he) discovered that the outlier stone, the now recumbent Y Pigwyn standing s... (9 comments - Vote or comment on this photo)
