SandyG visited on 5th Jul 2014 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 4 Access: 2 Car parking is available at SN 84525 30024. From its a bit of a hike along the track leading west. After about 1.5km head north across open moorland to the row and stone circles. Don’t forget to visit the cairn at SN 83140 30992.

This row of four small stones stands to the south west of the smaller stone circle at Trecastle Mountain and runs for around 18m.

Update August 2019: This stone row is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain - see their entry for Y Pigwn (Trecastle Mountain), which includes a description, a plan of the row and its associated cairn, small stone circle and large stone circle, photographs and access information. Their entry also includes a separate plan showing the possible extent of the Y Pigwn stone row.

The stone circles have their own site pages here (see nearby sites below). The stone circles are recorded as Coflein NPRN 104135 and Coflein NPRN 413022, both of which mention: "These circles are not considered to represent the remains of funerary mounds, but have been integrated into a general discourse of ritual circles, thus short lengths of stone alignments, adjacent or nearby (at SN83413101) can be interpreted as 'stone rows' rather than as the remains of field boundaries".

Trecastle Mountain Row
Trecastle Mountain Row submitted by Horatio : Looking NE along the stone row but difficult to see in this image the few small stones amongst the tussock grass. Immediately beyond is are the two stone circles Trecastle Mountain WSW and ENE. Well, figured that the midwinter setting sun would set along this row towards both the centre od both circles.
