Standing Stone (Menhir) in Sogn og Fjordane
This slender and pretty standing stone is located on a steep grassy hillside overlooking the Fylingsvatnet lake. It is standing at the edge of a narrow natural terrace in the hillside.
To reach the stone I had to climb the very steep hill with wet and very slippy grass. Visitors should take care so they dont tumble down the hill! From the hill is a very beautiful view over the lake and valley below.
The stone itself is 2.40 metres in height and around 30cm wide. It has a square shaped cross section. It was found laying down, but was re-erected on the estimated originally spot. It narrows a little further to the top.
