This large barrow cemetery consists of at least 31 iron age barrows. The barrows are concentrated on a long axis going north to south following a natural forest covered hill. A tractor road or path goes along the hill through the middle of the cemetery but seems not to have damaged any of the barrows.
The barrows are more spread out on the northern part of the site and closer together on the southern part. When I visited the site I followed the path from the north and found the northern barrows first. They are also the most overgrown barrows.
The three barrows to the north are built on small natural rock outcrops hence thy appear larger than they are. They are very overgrown with grass and smaller vegetation and can be hard to see. They are also on a little higher part of the hill than the others to the south.
The middle part of the cemetery is far less overgrown with smaller brush, it is mostly larger fir trees, making the barrows here much easier to see. A very pretty round barrow, around 20 metres in diameter and around 3 metres in height and deep ditches around it is just a metre from the path. Another barrow is just across it on the other side of the track, it is around 18 metres in diameter and 2,5 m in height. There is also a small information poster in this part of the cemetery.
Further south in an opening is the cemeterys largest barrow. It is at the edge of a steep hill to the west. It has only some large trees growing on top. It is around 25 metres in diameter and 4 metres in height. It has a beautiful rounded shape. At the end of the cemetery to the south there is a cluster of 5 smaller barrows. They are close together almost edge to edge. They are from 6 to 10 metres in diameter.
There are also several more barrows in the cemetery. Most of the barrows range in size from 6 to 25 metres in diameter and from 0,5 to 3 metres in height. Some of them are heavily overgrown and difficult to see. Even with the vegetation the site is well worth a visit!
