Cairn in Devon
The Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks website includes information about the Cudlipptown Down Embanked Cairn Circle. Described as an "embanked stone circle; an annular bank of earth and/or stones with an inner edge of orthostats. Internal diameter 11m with bank 2m wide and 0.6m high. Only a few kerb stones remain."
Further details can be found in the Pastscape Record for this site, Monument Number 439725, which tells us that this is "a ruined barrow on the north slope of White Tor ... a flat-topped turf-covered cairn ....set on a gently sloping natural plateau of rough grassland with views in most directions."
The Heritage Gateway for Devon & Dartmoor HER, HER number MD13252, dates the site to the Bronze Age (2200 BC to 701 BC).
