The Cleaven Dyke is the finest preserved prehistoric monument of its type in Britain. Well known locally but often misunderstood, and long thought to Roman, the site is now recognised to be a prehistoric ‘cursus’ monument dating to before 3600 BC. Join this tour and discover more about the site and the lives of the people who built it. Grade of walk: Moderate. £5 charge per person. Pre-booking is essential. The stone circles of Strathmore, Guildtown with Exploring Perthshire’s Past!

Stone circles are a common reminder of Perthshire’s prehistoric past. The southern part of Strathmore has a remarkable concentration of prehistoric stone circles, and this tour will explore three of these monuments. Find out more about prehistoric life and the roles these sites played in the past. Grade of walk: Easy. £5 charge per person. Pre-booking is essential. The latest news on the ongoing conservation of the 9m late Bronze Age logboat recovered from the Tay estuary by Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust in the summer of 2006. Find out about recent discoveries made during work at the National Museums of Scotland conservation laboratories in Edinburgh, and what the latest theories are about how the boat was constructed and used.
