A couple of new products just in the nick of time for Christmas/Yule/New Year. First the amazing and alliterative Avebury Archaeology Map, which has been painstakingly created by Thomas Melrose. Avebury Archaeology Map

The Avebury map is newly created for 2019 and includes details of excavations and surveys old and new. It was made with a clever combination of LIDAR laser scanning, Aerial photography and detailed photogrammetry of the stones, so giving unrivalled accuracy and detail.

It's a lovely thing to own and pore over and will enhance your understanding of Avebury, whether for a visit or study from afar. As well as the existing stones, it gives detailed locations of the missing stones and proposed structures under the ground. It also includes parking and walking maps of the village

It's sized like a standard OS map, 23 cm x 13.5 cm, is printed with archival quality ink and paper and has a tough weatherproof cover

Secondly Thomas has created a wonderful photo calendar of Stonehenge through the seasons. It opens out to 30 x 42cm and has what looks like photo quality reproduction. Some lovely images Everything you'd want from a calendar really:

Month to a page with space for notes, Moon Phases, Solstice and Equinox Dates, and as a bonus, all moon and sun, rise and set times are specific to the location of Stonehenge.

Glad to get my hands on this extremely detailed 1:875 scale archaeological map of Avebury. I visited this stone circle in 2016 (as an extension to the Salisbury Plains trip) and was blown away by the colossal size of the ditch and its stones. I promised then that I'd return to spend more time examining this megalithic landscape, and this map will be an invaluable aid on that trip.

I received my Avebury map, yesterday. I am over the moon, with the map. I love Avebury, it is my favorite stone circle, I have been there many times. I am going to pin my map on a wall, so I can see the ,map every day

    "People sometimes misuse pour in situations where pore is correct. To pore (over or through) means 'to read or focus on something intently', as in:
