Longstone Cove
Longstone Cove submitted by baz : The linear feature at the Longstone Cove under excavation Sept 2003. The tops of Adam & Eve can be seen beyond the far spoil-heap. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Previously only available to a select few, we can now reveal the link to Pete G's photo-journal of the excavation, where he and the locals are convinced they have found a cursus at Avebury.

somewhat drier official diary here. It's not a cursus, it's an enclosure ditch. Those archaeologists are always right you know. Like the ones who recently told the world they had 'discovered' a Stone Circle near Callanish . But I digress...

The strange Cursus like earthwork has been a cause of wild speculation by diggers and locals alike.
The excavators are now settling with linear earthwork, possible Iron Age enclosue with pits.
