The following info is to let everyone know exactly what is happening at the Rollright Stones in early August.

The dates of August the 7 & 8th are earmarked for technical and dress rehearsals for the forthcoming production of Lords & Ladies. Anyone wishing to visit on 7&8 should be aware that these rehearsals are taking place. The 7th will see the arrival of the technical crew to set up and test generators, sound and lighting equipment. We are unsure exactly how long this could take. Sound checks have to be carried out to ensure that the audience will be able to clearly hear the actors but not so loud that the neighbouring properties get to hear the performance too! Cables have to be laid, positioning of generator decided on, technical board set up and so on.

At some points of the day it may be necessary to ask visitors to wait before entering or leaving if it is felt that a health and safety risk is likely (tripping over cables etc). We will also be having an inspection from the licensing officer to ensure that all Health and Safety and Noise Reduction requirement are complied with. The crew have promised to do their utmost to ensure minimum disruption but some will be unavoidable.

Please note that the Trust are not accepting any requests for Special Access visits during the period of the plays performances or during rehearsals. Anyone wishing to book the site for same will be offered an alternative date once all this is over. Finally the stones will be closed to the general public from one hour before the matinee performance on Sat 10 August (3.30pm) until the morning of Sunday August 11th. This is to honour a long standing special access request made before the dates for the play was set. The stones will be closed for normal visiting for a period of one hour before each performance and during.

The Rollright Trust would like to apologise for any disruption caused by these arrangements.
