Prof Aldhouse-Green, a European prehistorian specialising in the archaeology of ritual and religion, was filmed for the popular Horizon TV series.
"They spent a day interviewing me about the significance of an ancient sky-disc, dating from around 1600BC, which may have been used by priests as a sacred calendar," explained Prof Aldhouse- Green.
"The sky-disc was found by metal detectors in Nebra in Germany, along with a cache of jewellery, axes and swords. It is from the Bronze Age, and is important because it represents an early map of the heavens.
"The disc tells us a great deal about sky-religion in the European Bronze Age and raises our level of understanding already gained from other, less-explicit finds, from northern and western Europe. In a sense, it is Germany's equivalent of Stonehenge."
The Horizon programme is due to be screened on BBC2 in January and, as well as Prof Aldhouse-Green's contribution, it will feature interviews with German scholars.
