On the 17th and 18th July 2004 venues all over England and Wales will be holding events that give all members of the family the chance to experience all aspects of archaeology and participate in a wide range of hands on activities.

So if you want to take part in a dig, handle artefacts, sort finds, make clay tiles, see demonstrations of ancient crafts or find out about life in the Ice Age, then go along to a venue near you.

Whether touring an excavation or archaeological store, trying on Roman armour, seeing re-enactment groups in action or learning about battlefield archaeology - there is something for everyone.

Organised by the Council for British Archaeology and its Young Archaeologists' Club - and supported by English Heritage- the aim of National Archaeology Days is to interest both the young and not so young in the fascinating subject of archaeology.

Last year's event saw over 195 sites taking part throughout the UK, attracting over 100,000 visitors!

For further details about this year's participating sites visit our website www.britarch.ac.uk/nads or contact Jan Cox at the address below.
