CBoon visited on 1st May 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Easily accessible off the main walking path around Chobham Common - was surprised at the size and how defined the ditch and mound were. Covered in badger setts and stumps, but a lovely POI on a walk!

Round Barrow in Surrey. The mound in the east of Chobham Common in Longcross Woods is a scheduled ancient monument.

It is a low mound about 30m in diameter with an encircling ditch. Very little is known about this mound. It is on a low ridge and its shape and size is very much in keeping with a Bronze-age barrow.

Longcross Barrow
Longcross Barrow submitted by Andy B : This is Longcross Barrow, which appeared to be one big (badger?) sett, which let's face it is not great for the archaeology. Here you can see a man laying net traps, and some orange ones visible in the foreground. The men also had a dog with them. I presume they were doing this legally as they didn't seem bothered by our presence. (Vote or comment on this photo)
