Soldier's Trench 03
Soldier's Trench 03 submitted by Rich32 : Reference 129 in the 2003 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding' and 'Soldier's Trench 03' on ERA. This area of bedrock has 4 vertical sided artificial depressions. Whether they're prehistoric is another question. Image captured 17 June 2012. Rock Art in Yorkshire (West)

This rock art panel is recorded as having a line of four artificial holes, previously thought to be deep cups, but which are probably associated with surface quarrying of the stone. For more information see England's Rock art entry for ERA-2452 Soldier's Trench 03, which includes a description, photographs and a plan of the rock and its motifs.

This rock art panel is located on Open Access land.
