The barrow is 66 metres long, slightly decreasing in height and width towards its northern end. The V-shaped notch that bisects the barrow mound is probably a result of antiquarian digging. There are traces of straight flanking ditches.
This long barrow and the smaller long barrow to the south of the nearby causewayed enclosure were both known by the name "The Giant's Grave" by the end of the 19th century. More details are available from the English Heritage monument information page.
