**Longstone Barrow** submitted by thecaptain : This is one of the larger barrows on Exmoor, measuring about 30 metres diameter and nearly 3 metres high. Seen here on a cold March day from the northwest. (Vote or comment on this photo)

This large round barrow is still in a very fine condition, with the ditch around it almost like a moat and full of water on a damp March day. As usual it has been dug into from the top, and this is a big pond today. It is one of the larger barrows on Exmoor, measuring about 30 metres diameter and nearly 3 metres high.

There are the remains of other barrows nearby, some fairly impressive along the hilltop ridge to the east, one of which seems to be like a large ring cairn.
