Shaugh Moor Cairns
Shaugh Moor Cairns submitted by thecaptain : Downhill from the Shaugh Moor stone row and cairn, is a cairn which is in surprisingly good condition considering its position. It still has much of its retaining kerb circle in place around it. (Vote or comment on this photo)
On the moorland near to the Shaugh Moor Stone Row, in amongst the waste tips from the china clay works, are several cairns to be found, many in very poor condition.

Fairly near to the road, downhill from the Shaugh Moor stone row and cairn, is a cairn which is in surprisingly good condition considering its position. It still has much of its retaining kerb circle in place around it, but there are a few large chunks of the cairn missing, and it has, as usual, been dug into at the top.

Update December 2019: The Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks website includes information about the the Shaugh Moor Platform Cairn Circle. The cairn is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 439245, as MDV2524 (Cairn on line of reave near Shaugh Cross) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER, and scheduled as Historic England List Entry No 1003824 (Barrow near Shaugh Cross).
