SandyG visited on 5th Jun 2016 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 5 Access: 1 This is not an easy row to get to. The nearest car parking spot is at NM 43350 52269. From here you can either head northward along forest tracks or head back into the village of Dervaig and walk along the road that leads beside Loch a’Chumhainn. When visited in 2016 I chose to walk to the row through the forest and returned alongside the loch. The route via the village is probably the easiest. A map and or reliable GPS device is essential or else the chances of getting hopelessy lost are high.

A row of four stones aligned NNW-SSE in Mull, only one of which remains upright. The standing stone is 9'2" high and rectangular in plan, measuring 1'6" by 1'4". Close by are 2 fallen stones with an almost concealed fourth pillar. Earlier reports indicate a fifth stone, now gone, which suggests that this was formerly a 5-stone row about 33' long.

Professor Thom's survey indicates that the row was aligned towards the major southern moonrise.

Update November 2019: More information on this alignment can be found on the Stone Rows of Great Britain's website - see their entry for Quinish, which includes a description, a plan of the row from a recent survey carried out in June 2016, photographs of the alignment and its individual stones, access information, plus a list of online resources for more information. The SRoGB tells us the row sits on a level terrace above the sea shore.

The row is also recorded as Canmore ID 22081 (Mull, Mingary). The row is also scheduled as SM10557 (Ach' nan Carragh, standing stones).

The SRoGB asks visitors to note that this is a difficult row to reach. A map and//or reliable GPS device is essential, or "the chances of getting hopelessly lost are high".

Quinish (Stone Row) submitted by SandyG : The low ridge west of the row blocks much of the view to the sea and creates the surprisingly restricted sea views from this site. The remaining standing stone looks down on its fallen comrades. View from the south. 5 June 2016.
