Barrow Cemetery in Conwy

Situated within the field known as Ffridd Can Awen are a series of prehistoric monuments. At this location within the field lie a number of cairns. According to Coflein (NPRN 412143) 14 cairns were identified during a survey in 2008. The majority were situated in the eastern half of the field and were generally small, no more than 2m in diameter.

Although it is not known it all of these cairns are funerary cairns the location, i.e. within an environment that comprises of so many monuments within a known prehistoric landscape that includes stone rows and cists, suggests the likelihood that some cairns are funerary.

The Hiraethog Trail that originates from Pentrefoelas village and heads north towards the lakes of Llyn Alwen and Aled passes to the west of the field.
