The entrance of the Castle shows a huge rock due to a war damage.
In the courtyard is a standing stone named Menir Cortes 1.
Also there are two good examples of a stone olive oil press (roman times) and some stones of medieval nécropolis stones.
In the museum is one room spend on objects until the ironage.
There is a clear timetable about the findings in the area and there are many objects of prehistiory, bronzeage, ironage shown.
There is a short movie (in Portuguese) about some excavation sites.
Many objects were found when they dug a waterpipeline - there were around 15 locations. These objects - pottery, swords, weaving utensils and beads - were donated to the museum. As many sites are on private property you can hardly visit the sites as they are fenced.
The area is loaded with signs of prehistoric habitation.
There are rockpaintings at the border of the Guadiana River; heaps of stone; old walls etc.
Upstairs in the museum Castle are artifacts of the Roman empire and artifacts of the Moors. The Castle is nice to wander through and has nice views.
