Hulavig is a word derived from the Norse. The spelling Thulabhig is an attemp to Gaelicise the name. Garynahine (which itself is an Anglicised spelling of Bear-r-aitjh na h'AilTihe) is the nearest village, and is not appropriate as a site name as five other sites are also within the Garynahine area.

Access: To reach site 4, take the B8011 from Garynahine towards Dig and Great Bernera. About one mile along this road, the tops of the stones become visible on the rising ground to the right. A short walk from the road, which involves climbing over a barbed-wire -fence, brings one to the site.

Access has improved...follow directions as per above but there is now a swing gate and wooden pathway laid over the road side peat. However, once past this gate you're on your own so take wellingtons. Well worth a visit, large wide stones overlooking impressive landscape.
