Despite this, some of the stone walls are still visible and you can clearly see the outer ramparts and ditches on the one side. In a field near to the site there are meant to be the remains of an ancient settlement, and the Iron Age village of Carn Euny is less than a kilometre away.
We found Caer Bran after parking on the grass by Grumbla common at a small wooden gate leading up to Sancreed Beacon. Just down the road (in South West direction) there is a concrete driveway to a farm (also a bridleway). On the gate you will see a map guiding you to the site. It is a steep walk, but easy to find.
For more details, check Journey to the Stones by Ian McNeil Cooke. To find the site, you will probably need to use OS Explorer Map 102 (Land's End).
