Klein Stavern Steingrab 2
Klein Stavern Steingrab 2 submitted by Martin_L : Sprockhoff 848 (Klein Stavern Grab 2). Looking towards NW (April 2008) (Vote or comment on this photo)
Burial Chamber (Dolmen) in Lower Saxony, Bremen. 1,5 km east of Klein Stavern there is a very interesting group of 4 megalithic tombs in a row (Sprockhoff 848-851/ Klein Stavern Grab 2 - 5).

Sprockhoff 848 (Klein Stavern Grab 2) is the westernmost tomb.
Preserved is the northern end of a chamber facing appr. N-S.
Original length is uncertain.
According to the size of the remains of the nearly completely eroded barrow it is approximately one half of the original structure.
6 large orthostats and a massive roofstone are preserved and in situ.
Chamber width is nearly 4m (clear 2,2m), remaining length 5m.
It is one of only few sites in northwest germany where the chamber is not halfway or completely filled with earth.

So it is a quite impressive view.

Klein Stavern Steingrab 2
Klein Stavern Steingrab 2 submitted by DrewParsons : Photographed in late September 2009. There is a large barrow cemetery with 20 round barrows 300 metres inland (north) from the road down a farm track and into the woods. The sign at the site described it as Hugelgraberwalchen Osterlich von Klein Stavern. (Vote or comment on this photo)
